I have been loving what I have been seeing from the people at Wet Sounds and today I am looking at their range of 6.5” speakers. As you have probably realized, Wet Sounds make marine audio for those who are looking for the best of the best. You are not going to find any 25 bucks “waterproof” soundbars here that is for sure. These people are all about high-end audio and that is something I am cool with. If you want to have a party on your boat, these speakers are what you need to take a closer look at. The Premium Price Of Wet Sounds
I know that many people will look at the price of the various Wet Sounds products and go running for the hills (just like my boys Iron Maiden) however, this is one company where I feel you are getting what you pay for. Yes, these products are not as cheap as some of the budget priced waterproof speakers you can find on a place like Amazon. That is not the market Wet Sounds are going for. They are offering a more premium product and with that comes a higher price tag.
I feel that there is a big difference between a product being overpriced and being expensive. Yes, you could argue that these Wet Sounds 6.5” speakers are expensive, but I would say they are far from being overpriced. To be fair, I am not even sure I would say they are all that expensive considering the overall quality of them.
Let’s Take A Look At The Wet Sounds 6.5 Inch Speaker Range
Wet Sounds have a nice selection of speakers at this size. What I like is that their current tag line is “Be Seen Be Heard” as while they want you to be able to rock out with some clarity. They also know that on a boat a set of speakers can be a nice accessory so they have made it a point to ensure that all of their speakers look really cool as well as sound great too.
I have checked out all of the speakers on their site and at the 6.5-inch range as I write this they currently offer 13 speakers at four different price ranges so today I have picked my favorite one from each price range to take a closer look at.
1. RECON 6-S | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers

I will tell you what caught my eye with these RECON 6-S | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers and that is how awesome the black and the chrome design is. In my opinion, when it comes to their lowest-priced speakers, these ones look the coolest by far. As cool as they look it was the description that put these over the edge for me, the best-valued speaker in Wet Sounds history was how they described it and after reading more about these I would have to agree. They are rocking a ¾ inch aluminum dome tweeter and an impressive 6-and-a-half-inch driver.
2. RECON 6 XW-W RGB | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers

Next up we have the RECON 6 XW-W RGB | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers which are going for around the 350 bucks mark. From this point on all of the Wet Sounds 6.5” speakers we look at allow you to change the background light color (as long as you buy the remote) which I think is a really cool feature. These are powered with an impressive tweeter and the driver is sure to really push the sound. It is the design though that I feel is very striking, white speakers always capture your attention, but it is the grille with the light behind it that I feel really makes these bad boys stand out.
3. REVO 6 XW-B | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers
$349.99
At the 349 range, there are five different styles of speakers, but it was the REVO 6 XW-B | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers that caught my eye. Truth be told I like the design of all the speakers at this price point. However, what I really liked about these speakers was that they kind of reminded me of a jet engine. I like the all-black design and think with a red RGB light (or actually green would be cool too) that these would really pop on any boat. I am sure the tech powering these is great, but Wet Sounds have the same description as the $199 speakers listed here!
4. REVO 6 XS-W-SS | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers
$399.99
So, we come to the highest-priced category of Wet Sounds 6.5” speakers. There are a few to chose from, but from a design point of view these REVO 6 XS-W-SS | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers are some of the coolest looking speakers of any variety I have ever seen. The chrome has this very futuristic almost robot look to it. They do have the RGD lighting which I am sure looks great, but I have to be honest and say if these were on my boat, I would leave the lighting off as they look far more sophisticated this way. these are designed with higher output in mind of they are great if you want to really crank up the tunes and not lose any sound clarity.
What Speakers Should I Buy?
No matter if it is waterproof speakers or speakers in general, we have looked at a ton of speakers on the site. So, you know that speakers are something we have a real interest in. the range of Wet Sounds 6.5” speakers is very, very impressive. For me personally, I am not sure the RGB lighting is a big selling point considering you have to buy their remote control separately. Right now if I had to purchase a set of these speakers for my boat I would probably go for the RECON 6-S | Wet Sounds High Output Component Style 6.5″ Marine Coaxial Speakers as I feel getting the Wet Sounds quality for 200 bucks is one hell of a deal. For those looking for a bit more “oomph” with their sound, I would advise you to take a closer look at the high output speakers they offer.
