I am a huge Sony fan and these are speakers that I have actually personally used a great deal. These Sony XS-GS1631C 6.5″ (16-cm) 3-Way Component Speakers have that Sony quality that you would expect and I feel that the slightly over 200 bucks price tag for these is more than fair. These just ooze style and have that classic Sony look which I like, while they look cool, they will blend into any car interior.

The sound quality out of these is incredible. I have blasted Guns n Roses at ear-bleeding volume while driving alone at night and there was no sound distortion at all. The lows, the mids, the highs everything out of these sounds great and I have no problems with the sound quality at all. Sony makes great speakers no matter if they are for the home or the car!

What Other People Are Saying

I found a pretty informative video showcase about these that just praise them non stop pretty much for the whole video. Here you get a bit more information about the tech that makes these sound so great. On Amazon, there is not a ton of customer reviews for these component speakers, but the reviews that are there are 85 percent five-star reviews.

I love these speakers and while some people may raise questions about their ability to fit into any car. I can tell you from personal experience that these speakers have served me very, very well. They are beings old for a price that I feel is very reasonable, they look cool and they are very well made. However, it is the sound quality that makes these a massive upgrade to any car’s stock speakers.

Pros:

  • I love the sound quality of these speakers
  • They have that Sony quality
  • Very easy to install
  • The asking price for the quality is very reasonable

Cons:

  • Some questions about their universal ability for all cars
  • Not sure the design will fit everyone’s personal taste

2. Pioneer TS-Z65C 6.5″ Component Speaker System

Next, up we have this Pioneer TS-Z65C 6.5″ Component Speaker System. The current asking price for this is a hair under $250 which makes it perfect for this best component speakers under the $1000 list. Pioneer is another company that makes great products and these are certainly right up there. These have a really elegant design to them and the installation of these speakers is nice and easy which is always a bonus.

The max output is 300 watts so you can expect to be rocking out pretty damn loud with these bad boys. The tag for these is “high-resolution audio” this basically means that you can listen loud without any distortion which I can fully attest to. These are very well-made speakers and I have zero complaints about the sound quality at all. The step up from a set of stock car speakers to these is pretty damn phenomenal.

There may only be a handful of customer reviews on Amazon, but these have a 100 percent positive rating right now! That is very impressive and great to read. I also found a video review for these speakers on YouTube. What caught my attention about this video was that in the title, it actually says top of the line.

The Pioneer TS-Z65C 6.5″ Component Speaker System is another great product from the clever minds at Pioneer. These are way, way under our 1000 bucks price limit and I have to be honest and say that I do not really see just how much better more expensive speakers could be than these! 3. Alpine R-S69C.2 R-Series 6×9-inch Component 2-Way Speaker System

Ok, so I know that the Alpine R-S69C.2 R-Series 6×9-inch Component 2-Way Speaker System being 350 bucks may seem a tad alarming, but remember we are looking for the best component speakers under $1000 today so they are well within the price range. These 9-inch speakers look great and they are very easy to install. The way that Alpine design their audio equipment has always been something that appealed to me and that is certainly the case here. The speaker grill on the front of these is really cool, it is hard to explain, but when you see them it has an almost invisible vibe thing going on.

These speakers sound awesome and they do right out of the box. Once installed, especially if you are going from stock car speakers to these, the difference in quality is going to blow you away. I do not think that there is a level that these do not sound great on, to be honest with you. I like to listen to a lot of hard rock (mainly the 80s by the way) and I can hand on heart say that I do not have a single issue with the sound at all. Even at louder volumes, Alpine has made sure these hit all the right notes.

What Other People Are Saying

Ok, so granted there are only a few customer reviews for these currently on Amazon, but they do have a 100 percent positive rating. “The highs are smooth, detailed, clear, and don’t overwhelm the rest of the sound. The other frequencies are perfect also, but the treble is where your detail and imaging mostly come from” is what one review had to say and I feel that me and this person must be kindred spirits as these are my thoughts on these speakers also.

I think I am in love with the Alpine R-S69C.2 R-Series 6×9-inch Component 2-Way Speaker System. The more I think about it, the more I realize that these very well could be the perfect set of car speakers. • They have a cool and modern design

Cons:

  • They are more expensive than a few of the others on this list
  • Anything else would be nitpicking in all honesty with you!

These speakers do not actually have a ton of information about them floating around online. On Amazon, there are a few reviews, all of which are positive so I do take that as a good sign. If you want to check out a fun video look at this dude here. While these are not the 100 percent exact same set of speakers, you get a good idea of what Kicker are all about with this video.

5. CT Sound 6.5 Inch Component Speaker Set

I thought that the fact this CT Sound 6.5 Inch Component Speaker Set was a complete set made it a pretty interesting one to look at. Again, this is one that I have not personally tested, but as I was looking around at the best car component speakers under $1000, I kept coming across these so decided to add them to our list. This set is currently priced at around the 250 bucks price mark which I feel is fair.

What I liked about these is that CT Sound gives you detailed information about what exactly you are getting. A 3-inch midrange speaker, a 6.5-inch driver, and a 25 mm CNC silk dome tweeter will all add up to offer you some very sweet-sounding music. Included in the box is everything you need, even the screws and the wires so this truly is a complete set that is ready to be hooked up right out of the box.

What Other People Are Saying

These currently have 75 percent five-star reviews on Amazon. There are also a few negative ones though so that is something to watch out for. Many of the positive customer reviews are quick to praise the sound quality of these. “Powerhouse of a component set! • I liked the modern and cool design that they have
  • No need to buy a bunch of extra wires or screws!

  • There are a few reports of quality control issues
  • Some people said that they were 5.5 and not 6.5!

6. Kenwood KFC-XP6902C 6×9 + 2-3/4″ Component Speakers

While I have not yet had the pleasure to try out these Kenwood KFC-XP6902C 6×9 + 2-3/4″ Component Speakers for myself. I do feel that they are more than worth taking a closer look at. I have used many Kenwood products before over the years and never had an issue. These have a very cool look to them with a nice big grill that looks awesome. I know this may be a bit much for some, but I do like it. The asking price for these as I write this is $219 which is a great price for a set of component speakers of this quality.

In taking a closer look at these, I am sure they will have some serious kick to them. These are classed as a mid-high set of speakers so they will be great if you are driving with someone else in the car and you do not want it too loud. Or if you are driving along the highway at night and want to rock out loudly all by yourself.

What Other People Are Saying

I found a pretty decent video unboxing of these speakers (along with their brother) that I feel is worth watching. You can get an idea of the sound quality, but you also get a chance to see the design and get an idea of how they will fit in your car. Over at the good old Amazon, these have a star rating of 85 percent when it comes to the five-star ratings.

Pros:

  • These have a serious style to them
  • They are very affordable
  • The value for money of these is very high
  • The sound quality is said to be very good

Cons:

  • You will have to check if they will fit in your car properly
  • Not a ton of reviews online for these

What Are The Best Component Speakers Under $1000?

Out of the three that I personally tested; I have to say that you cannot go wrong with any of them. However, I have to pick a winner, and even though it is the most expensive package on our list, the Alpine R-S69C.2 R-Series 6×9-inch Component 2-Way Speaker System is the one that gets my vote. This was so good that I really could not find anything negative about it at all. So, that is why if I had to suggest just one out of the lot, we looked at today it would be that! If I had to pick a runner up it would be the speakers from Sony.
