Granted, people may tend to use these more as their rear speakers, but I think that these awesome little speakers would be great in giving you a movie style sound as your front speakers. To start with, I love the kind of 80s vibe that these things have going on. The black ash woodgrain effect is a style that I have always liked and no matter if you had these sitting next to your tv, on a shelf, or even hanging on the wall they will look great. The asking price of $199 is not too bad either, I think you are getting a great set of speakers for that money.

Polk are master craftspeople when it comes to how they engineer their speakers and these are a perfect example of that. You may think it is the looks that made me put them on this best front speakers for home theater list, but that is not actually true. It was the immense sound quality. Even though these are only small, they pack a real power to the sound, even at louder volumes they sound great. I know too as I cranked these up so loud that my wife got mad. These Klipsch R-28PF Surround Powerful Floor Standing Speakers are truly fantastic and a set of speakers I have had a lot of experience with. They have a very cool and stylish design that will make them be a real stand out feature of any home theater. Now, these are floorstanding speakers and they are rather large so make sure you have the space for them. Also, I know there is no ignoring the over 500 bucks (close to 600 actually!) price tag that these have.

With that big price tag though comes some truly exceptional sound. If you want loud action scenes, crystal clear dialogue, and movie quality sound in general. I am a big fan of Edifier and have had the pleasure to review many of their speakers before. Also, the edges have slight curves to them rather than being “boxy” and that helps add to the appeal. By that I mean these would look fantastic on display near your TV. At the same time, I also feel that you could have them up on a shelf and they would blend in and not have your eyes drawn to them. Moukey Bookshelf Speakers

I will be up front with you guys and let you know that Moukey is not a company I know a great deal about. Still, I wanted a set of speakers that were under the 100 bucks mark and I came across these Moukey Bookshelf Speakers. While I have not managed to get my grubby hands on these, I still felt that they were worth putting on our best front speakers for home theater list as they are so affordable. They have a real retro 80s hi-fi thing going on with that black wood design. The only thing that hurts the design in my opinion is the Moukey logo that is on the bottom, it really sticks out and not in a cool way either.

In reading what is inside these they say that they are able to offer fairly deep bass and clear treble. It says that inside each speaker there is a 5 inch bass unit and a 1 inch treble unit which at this price is not bad at all. I think that these are very basic speakers, but if you have a decent receiver then I am pretty sure that these are going to be an upgrade from the sound your TV produces.
